How unique am I to wear a floral top in spring? Groundbreaking or not, the fact is that floral prints just make sense after a long any winter, and are the perfect pick-me-uppers in our typical windy and sometimes rainy spring days. This Phillip Lim for Target floral tank that I picked up last fall has been one of my favourite goto's in my wardrobe. One of its many attributes I love has to be the easy to match colours - to complete the outfit, I picked up the orange and black from the top and layered on a blazer and coat for some warmth.

A leopard print coat is the perfect piece for those I-don't-know-what-to-wear days, throw it on top of any outfit and all of a sudden you seem to have taken some effort. A chunky knit sweater on top of a shirt is one of my go-to uniforms, and uniforms get boring - so I was very happy to have this coat to breathe some life into the ensemble. I'm still liking the oversized look on these coats, especially ones with such clean and minimalistic aesthetic, there is something so casual and carefree about it.

As much as I love all of my coats though, I just can't wait for warm spring and summer days to come.

Grays, Greens, and D'orsay Flats

Recently I've been noticing a lot of usages of "d'orsay flats" to describe shoes such as this pair of snakeskin pointy toe flats from Target. I did a quick search and found that it's a general term used to describe any shoe that has all of its sides cut away, and its vamp cut close to the toes. "D'orsay pumps" such as ones worn here and here are the same except that they have heels.

I thought I'd wear something gray to match these flats, but ended up going overboard with gray on gray on gray. I had to bring in a small amount of color by adding on a mint button down and a green purse, otherwise these pictures might be mistaken for black and white ones. What can I say? I love neutrals.
